Central Public Procurement Portal (CPP Portal), also known as e-Procurement Portal, is the central source of procurement data related to departments operating under the Government of India. The portal was developed by National Informatics Centre (NIC) to address the needs of electronic procurement and e-tendering of these various departments. The portal comes in two modules namely, e-procurement and e-publishing. The main objective of the CPP Portal is to provide an integrated and single point of access to procurement information related to the different departments and ministries.
All the Government of India departments are mandated to publish the tender enquiries, proposal requests and bid awarding details on the CPP Portal through the e-publishing module. They are also mandated to start e-procurement for tenders worth more than INR 10 lakhs.
Contractors can bid for the published tenders only using their digital signature. So, it is compulsory for the bidders to have a digital signature to bid for the government tenders. They can obtain digital signatures from any trusted Certifying Authorities like eMudhra.
